Independent, award-winning practice
Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready for your next step?
Oathall Veterinary Group is a proudly independent, well-established small animal practice looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon with at least 2.5 years’ UK practice experience to join our supportive and collaborative team.
This is more than just another vet role; it’s an opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills, mentor others, and progress towards a future Lead Vet position, while working in a practice where your voice genuinely matters.
Why Join Oathall?

Out of Hours – Transparent & Fair
Our in-house out-of-hours service offers valuable exposure to emergency and complex cases, helping you broaden your clinical experience and further develop your surgical and decision-making skills – opportunities often missed in practices that outsource OOH care. We know OOH can put people off so here’s what it really looks like:
- 1 in 3 weekends affected.
- One Saturday 8am-8pm with Sunday off
- One full weekend in 6 whereby you will consult on Saturday morning for 4 hours, then do Saturday and Sunday 8pm–8am as your weekend of working with Monday off.
- One fixed night per week on-call in practice
- Monday off after working a Sunday night.
- Fully supported team environment
- Designed to maintain work-life balance
This rota allows continuity of care while remaining manageable and predictable.
What’s on Offer
- Salary £45,000 – £70,000 depending on experience
- 4-day working week
- Funded certificate (orthopaedics encouraged)
- Generous CPD allowance
- Supportive leadership team
- Long-term career development
- Birthday off every year
- BUPA health insurance
- Generous Holiday allowance
- A friendly, fun loving independent practice that values you as a person, not just a rota slot
The Ideal Candidate
You will be:
- RCVS registered with 2.5+ years’ experience in practice
- Confident with first-opinion cases and routine surgery
- Keen to develop clinically and work toward further qualifications
- Comfortable mentoring or supporting junior colleagues
- A team player with a positive, proactive attitude
- Interested in building long-term client relationships
- Open to progressing into a senior or lead vet role
Orthopaedic experience is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm and commitment to develop are key.
