Cats need regular parasite prevention, even indoors. Fleas, ticks, and worms can cause illness, so ongoing treatment is essential.

Parasites don’t care if your cat lives indoors or out — fleas, ticks, and worms can still cause problems. At Oathall Vets, we help you stay on top of parasite protection with safe, easy-to-use treatments and expert advice.

What Parasites Should Cat Owners Worry About?

  • Fleas – Cause intense itching, skin issues, and allergic reactions.
  • Ticks – Can transmit serious diseases, especially in rural areas.
  • Roundworms and tapeworms – Affect digestion, growth, and can be passed to humans

Even indoor cats can get fleas from shoes, clothing or other pets — and fleas can survive in your home year-round.

Signs Your Cat May Have Parasites

  • Scratching or grooming excessively
  • Hair loss or scabs
  • Worm segments in litter tray or around the tail
  • Tummy upsets, bloating, or weight loss
  • Lethargy
